What is loft insulation?
Installing loft insulation involves laying insulating material in between and over the brackets of your attic. The material dramatically reduces the amount of warm air that reaches your attic space and prevents it from escaping. In order to minimise wastage and ensure the attic space is adequately insulated, it is best to use a trained professional or an insulation firm to do the job.
Material can be blown into a loft spaces without direct access. However, this is not covered under current grant funding.

Receive free loft insulation grants for 40-100%.
As part of the Government’s pledge to cut carbon emissions, they have instructed UK energy companies to provide funding to households to insulate their property. Everyone can receive a grant towards loft insulation for their home. For those over 70 or on benefits, the grant will cover the cost of insulating their home. For everyone else, a grant of between 40-70% will be provided. It does not matter which energy company supplies your electricity or gas and grants to do not have to be paid back.
Even with the minimum grant of 40%, you will recoup the cost of the insulation inside 12 months, and enjoy substantial savings in subsequent years to come.
